Three Indian designers showcased their collections, which included cocktail dresses, Indian bridal wear and apparel for the groom. The show was choreographed by Prasad Bidapa and kicked-off with models walking the ramp in the creations of Sumit Das Gupta, which were inspired by Bengal. This got the audiences hooked and they were seen clicking away as the models took the ramp. Sumit’s collection was ideal for the modern day Indian bride as it blended traditional and contemporary designs. Also bridal makeup helps you look glamorous on your wedding day.
. An interesting use of overcoats with minimalist embroidery could be seen. The models, whose makeup was done by Visage, even wore the big red Bengali bindi along with their lehengas and overcoats. Actress Pranitha, his show stopper, walked the ramp in a black and gold lehenga.

The next designer of the evening, Nivedita Saboo, was rather bold with her collection. Seeking inspiration from the times of the British Raj, she showcased some risque designs in vibrant colours. While the fabric cuts and flow was mostly Indian in style, the designs and patterns on them were British in nature, blending the two worlds beautifully. The men wore coats that had imperial designs, epaulettes and aiguillette along with Jodhpuri pants and silk dhotis, which exuded the feel of the British Raj with Indian royalty. The women, on the other hand, wore coats over their lehengas and saris that looked western, as they walked the ramp, but screamed Indian when they turned as there was traditional gold embroidery on sheer on their cholis. Actress Sanjjanaa, who was Nivedita’s show stopper, graced the ramp with the spirit of an excited bride in a black and red lehenga that shimmered with gold work.

Sumit’s creations returned to the stage with his cocktail collection exclusively for men. This collection saw the men wearing Indian designs on western casuals. The contrasts in design and natural colours were pleasing to the eye. Sandalwood actor J Karthik walked the ramp with confidence and grace in a sherwani, best suited for a groom. The evening’s finale designer to showcase her wedding collection was Seema Malhotra. Her designs, inspired by the Mughal era, saw the use of embroidery, sheer and shimmer on nude and pastel shades. The highlight of her collection was a sea green lehenga that twinkled, because of the sequins, on stage. Seema’s show stopper, Parvathy Omanakuttan, sizzled on the ramp in a soft pink outfit like an elegant bride. The event saw popular Sandalwood celebs, including Shruti Hariharan, Shwetha Pandit, Meghana Gaonkar, Shachina Heggar and Sindhu Loknath, among others, enjoying themselves at the event.
