Evans, the United Kingdom’s biggest plus-size retailer, debuted its first plus size runway show in LFW.The Design Collective for Evans will be available for purchase online starting February 2015.
“This is a big and important part of the market, and we need to be seen to embrace it. You cannot ignore the market place,” Sir Philip Green, head of the Arcadia Group, which owns Evans, told Women’s Wear Daily. “And you can’t be defensive about it, or apologize about [plus-size fashion]. Why should the category be any different from petite?”
There was many plus size ramp shows held before,but this show was entirely different as there was a plus size presence within the buzz of London Fashion Week that changed the face of catwalk shows. Indian designers have to look forward to embrace the plus size clothing as well as plus size on runway.Why to hesitate experiments after all”There can be no accomplishment without risk”.
